For example if you are looking for king size bedding you will need a 230cm x 220cm king size duvet cover and a 225cm x 220cm duvet.
The king size duvet cover is a particularly popular size. King size duvet dimensions measure 230cm x 220cm / 90 x 87 inches. UK bed linen will not necessarily be the same size as European or US bed linen. See our top tips below for buying a duvet cover and our bed linen size guides.

- Our linen fitted sheets come in two depths: 30cm and 40cm.
- We suggest using our standard size pillow in a single, double or even king size bed; and our king size pillow for both king and super king beds.
- We also make square pillowcases that are 65cm x 65cm.
Top tips for buying a duvet cover
- Duvet covers are always made to fit the same size duvet, so you don’t need to buy a bigger duvet cover size than your duvet.
- A double duvet is square so the cover will fit any way you pop the duvet in.
- The width of a king size duvet is slightly more than its length though, so make sure you have the duvet cover the right way round when you put it on.
- All Scooms duvets and sheets come with handy feet labels so you easily know which way around your duvet, sheets and duvet covers go. Making your bed is suddenly a whole lot easier.
- International sizes use different terms for mattress and duvet sizes which can be confusing. For example, a UK King size is an international Queen size and a UK Super King is an international King size.
- Bedding terms can also differ internationally. For example in the US a duvet is sometimes referred to as a quilt, comforter or duvet insert. They’re the same as a duvet.
Not sure which bed linen size - how to measure your mattress
- A retractable measuring tape is the easiest to use as you can fix it in place.
- Strip your mattress of all bed linen so you can measure the mattress exactly.
- Measure the width by placing the end of the measuring tape to the left side of the mattress, then extend the tape to the right edge.
- Measure the length by placing the end of the tape in the middle top of the mattress and stretch it to the middle bottom.
