An essential addition to your bedding set. A good quality, easily washable protector can save your mattress from any unmentionably nasty stains as well as general wear and tear. Ours is pure cotton so it's naturally breathable and moisture wicking. It comes in a lovely cotton storage bag and is delivered in plastic free, recyclable packaging.

Our 100% cotton mattress protector comes in two depths, standard fit and deep fit, and in five sizes: Single, Double, King, Super king and Emperor. Always choose the same size as your mattress. Pull the elasticated cotton skirt over the sides and corners of your mattress so the protector stays snugly in place. Then place your fitted or flat sheet on top. It can also be used underneath an electric blanket.

We've made our cotton protector slightly oversized to allow for natural washing shrinkage. And like all our products, it's reassuringly Oeko-Tex 100 Standard certified.

Materials:

Fabric: 100% pure cotton.
Filling: 100% cotton in 200gsm.
Skirt: Fully elasticated 100% cotton skirt.
Casing: 100% cotton percale in 200 thread count.
Fit: Standard fit up to 30cm depth and deep fit up to 40cm mattress depth - Goes on top of your mattress and underneath your bottom sheet.

Care:

Made slightly oversized to allow for natural shrinkage when first washed.
Machine wash at 30° to 40° before use and then once every 1-4 weeks.
Use non-bio (enzyme free) detergent sparingly, as too much detergent may damage the soft cotton filling in your protector.
Fabric softener can reduce absorbency so it is best not to use it but if you do, use only a small amount.
Wash separately or only with other white cotton bedding. Washing with clothing may cause friction leading to piling. Washing with darker colours may cause your protector to become grey in colour.
Line dry or tumble dry at lower heat - use our Wool Tumble Dryer Balls to reduce tumble drying time and add a little extra softness without using chemicals.

Make sure it's really pure cotton. Some brands sell a 'Cotton' mattress protector that isn't only cotton. Check that the filling is really just cotton. And that you're not being sold a protector with a synthetic skirt. As one of our customer's said "Finally, a mattress protector that genuinely doesn't include any synthetics."

Great quality, but shrinks badly

The quality of the mattress protector is great and deserves 5 stars, the fit however is not. When I purchased it for my brand new king size mattress, it fitted perfectly on the bed. After the first wash at 30C,it has shrunk (I dried it outside on the washing line) The length is still perfect, but the width is now missing 4cm on my bed. One of my main reasons why I purchased the mattress protector was the fit everyone celebrated, but I can't confirm this. For the price I would expect that the cotton is pre-washed to eliminate shrinkage.

Excellent quality mattress protector

Top quality mattress protector that is made from all natural fibers and one that actually fits properly without constantly coming away at the corners, especially when sitting up in bed.
If there is one slight caveat to being made from all natural fibres, it is the extended drying time due the absorbancy of the filling. But for us this isn't an issue, if we cannot get it dried out on the washing line, which our preferred method, as you cannot beat freshly aired bedding, then it will simply go on low heat in the tumble dryer.
All in all, well worth the money.
