Mattress protector size guide

Mattress protector skirt with cotton branch

Our guide to mattress protector sizes will help you find the best size mattress protector for your bed. A mattress protector that is too small won't cover your mattress properly and one that's too big can move around as you sleep and be uncomfortable. Make sure you find the perfect fit protector!

What sizes do mattress protectors come in?

Mattress protectors are made to fit specific mattress sizes, so your protector size should match your mattress size.

MATTRESS PROTECTOR SIZE UK MATTRESS SIZE UK
SINGLE MATTRESS PROTECTOR 90 x 190cm 90 x 190cm
DOUBLE SIZE MATTRESS PROTECTOR 135 x 190cm 135 x 190cm
KING MATTRESS PROTECTOR 150 x 200cm 150 x 200cm
SUPER KING MATTRESS PROTECTOR 180 x 200cm  180 x 200cm

How deep should my mattress protector be?

Your protector needs to be able to cover the depth of your mattress. The scooms mattress protector is made extra deep so that it will fit all mattress depths, up to 40cm. Each mattress protector comes with an elasticated skirt so it can be pulled tightly over the corners and sides of any depth mattress.

Should a protector cover the whole mattress?

Yes. If your protector does not fully cover your mattress, it won’t be fully protected.

Washed and pre-washed protector sizes

High quality natural mattress protectors like our scooms protector are made from 100% cotton. Cotton naturally shrinks a little when first washed. We make all our scooms mattress protectors oversize to allow for this natural shrinkage. After the first couple of washes, your protector will shrink to the perfect size.

Should a protector be bigger than my mattress?

No. A mattress protector that is too big can move around and be uncomfortable. It should fit snugly over your mattress like a fitted sheet.

Should a protector be smaller than my mattress?

Ideally it should be the same size as your mattress. A mattress protector that is too small won't protect your whole mattress and keep it free from stains, spillage and general usage.
