How to care for your mattress topper
Make sure that your mattress topper retains its lovely loft, support and overall quality by carefully following these guidelines.
How to care for your topper
- Shake and rotate your topper once a week - This will plump up the topper filling*, minimise body impressions and help it to wear evenly. Tip - do this at the same time as your weekly linen wash.
- Use a mattress protector on top - An easy to wash protector is ideal for keeping your topper clean and stain free.
- Air it daily - Pull back your duvet and covers every morning to allow your topper to breathe and any moisture to evaporate.
- Spot clean stains carefully - Use a gentle textile cleaner. (Test a small area first to make sure that the cleaner does not discolour the cotton casing.)
- Massage your mattress topper occasionally - Roll the corners of your topper to the centre and then back again every now and then to help maintain the loft of the filling in each pocket.
- Launder professionally every 6 months.
- Storing your topper - Launder your topper before you store it and always use a breathable storage bag, never a non-breathable plastic bag. - Replace your topper every five to ten years for optimal support.
* It's normal for a natural topper fill to form around your body, so it's important to shake and rotate regularly to redistribute the filling in each pocket and help the down and feather to recover its loft.
