How to refresh your bedroom for Spring
Feeling tired of your bedroom’s look and feel? Reinvigorate your sleeping space and give your bedroom a new lease of life this spring…
Ditch the "floordrobe"
We know what it's like, you've had a busy week and before you know it there’s a big pile of clothes in the corner and a scattering of items on your surfaces and even the floor! Restore calm to your bedroom by making sure all your belongings including books, clothes and linens are in the right place, still easily accessible but neatly stored away.
Take a tip from Marie Kondo – the best-selling author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying – and refine your wardrobe and shelves so items aren’t spilling out onto the floor. She suggests going through everything you own and only holding onto the things that ‘spark joy’. You’ll be surprised at how satisfying it is to let go of stuff you no longer need - freeing up space and making you feel more organised and in control.

Streamline surfaces
It’s easy to cover a bedside table or dressing table with bits and bobs – face creams, books, jewellery and all sorts of things that may have come out of your pocket or handbag. Before you know it, you’re surrounded by ‘stuff’ that makes your bedroom feel busy instead of being a relaxing environment for sleep. Take a moment to clear the surrounding surfaces of clutter and make sure you have enough storage to keep items that don’t need to be on display, neatly hidden away. This will instantly lighten your bedroom and create a sense of calm.

Embrace nature
Bring the outside in with a fresh bunch of flowers or beautiful plant. A large glossy green Elephant Eat Plant (Alocasia Colocasia) houseplant, for example, looks great on a windowsill and its big leaves are a natural air-purifier. A small posy of wild flowers next to your bed is an equally nice feature to wake up to. If you’re not a plant person, then perhaps a stylish botanical print will make you feel closer to nature.

Invest in natural, breathable bedding
We spend a third of our life sleeping, so it makes sense to invest in a mattress and bedding that not only looks and feels good but most importantly, provides you with a great night’s sleep. Choose a mattress, duvet and pillows crafted from natural materials. Look for allergen resistance accreditations like Nomite.
This easy change will improve your sleep health while removing any chemical nasties in your bedroom. Sleep well!
