5 Clever Ways to use Scooms Duvet Storage Bags
Our Scooms duvets, pillows and toppers come in very useful storage bags. Some of our customers have pointed out that while they are definitely great for storing your bedding, they can also be used in a myriad of ways around the home. So, we thought we would pass their handy tips on to you.
Here are 5 clever ways to make the most of your Scooms storage bags. Let us know if you have any more ideas to add to the list?
- Store your bedding when not in use
- Store your clothes when not in use
- Organise clothes in your suitcase when travelling
- Collect clothes and linens to give to charity
- Use in the garden for leaves and cuttings
You can also buy our storage bags, either on their own or in bundles of five:
Store your bedding when not in use
Scooms duvet and pillow storage bags are designed to keep your bedding pristine when not in use. The breathable fabric prevents mustiness and protects from dust, moths and dampness. See our guide to storing your duvet.
Store your clothes when not in use
The bags are also perfect for storing out-of-season clothes, keeping your wardrobe clutter-free and your clothes clean until the next season. Use topper-size storage bags for coats and bulky items and duvet or pillow storage bags for smaller garments. They’re especially good for storing woollens, as the breathable fabric keeps out moths.
Organise clothes in your suitcase when travelling
The smaller storage bags, like our pillow storage bags, are great for separating your clothes and shoes in your suitcase. They also make ideal lightweight dirty laundry bags for holidays, separating you dirty laundry from your clean garments, ensuring your clean clothes stay fresh and your luggage organised.
Collect clothes and linens to give to charity
Sometimes you find a couple of items you no longer need but not enough things to make it worth the journey to the charity shop. Keep a Scooms storage bag at the bottom of a handy cupboard and fill it up as you go along. Once it's full, the bag can be whisked off to your local charity shop. Note, if it's heavy, don't just use the handles to pick up the bag as they are only designed for lightish duvets and pillows. Best to pick up and carry the bag in a bear hug.
Use in the garden for leaves and cuttings
One of our founder Jonathan's favourite uses. The larger Scooms storage bags are ideal around the garden. Fill them with leaves, small branches and cuttings. Then easily pick up the bag and pop it in the car boot ready to take to the tip. Result: No more mess in the car and less clearing up to do later.
Just remember not to clear away all your garden debris; leave some piles for bugs and wildlife to enjoy.
