Duvets

An all-season duvet includes two separate duvets (e.g. 4.5 tog + 9 tog) that can be combined when you want more warmth or used separately when you want a cooler duvet. One duvet is usually a higher tog and the other a lighter tog. Most all-season duvet sets come with a discount, offering you a money saving option. Scooms all-season duvets come with a 15% discount compared to buying separately.

At Scooms, we provide three all-season duvet combinations with a pack of duvet fasteners -

Scooms duvets come with feet labels so you can easily tell which way round the duvet goes. We realised that trying to figure out how your duvet fits in your duvet cover can be a real puzzle, so we added feet labels to our Hungarian goose down duvets to ensure you never get confused again.

Make sure you turn your duvet around each time you wash the duvet cover, so the feet end switches with the head end. This will help to maintain an even amount of loft/fluffiness. See our guide for more tips on How to put on a duvet cover.

All Scooms duvets come with matching buttonholes so you can easily fix two duvets together with our single-piece duvet fasteners. Every Scooms all-season duvet set you buy comes with a full set of duvet fasteners, plus spares. You can also buy extra sets of duvet fasteners.

How to use Scooms duvet fasteners:

  • First, lay the two duvets on top of each other so that the buttonholes match.
  • Then, push the fastener through one duvet buttonhole.
  • Next, push the other side of the fastener through the matching buttonhole of the other duvet.
  • Note, the fasteners should be removed before you wash your duvet.

See our Duvet fastener guide for full instructions.

Pillows

The best pillow for you depends on your sleeping position, firmness preference, filling type, size, accreditations and any neck or back concerns. Side sleepers and back sleepers typically need a firmer, higher-loft pillow, whereas front sleepers usually prefer a softer, lower-profile pillow. High-quality natural fillings like down or feather offer excellent comfort and breathability, like the Scooms pillow. If you have a dust mite allergy, look for anti-allergy accreditation such as Nomite. Find out all you need to know about picking the best pillows in our guide: How to choose a pillow?

standard size pillow measures 50cm x 75cm (20” x 30”) and a king size pillow (also called a super king pillow) is 50cm x 90cm (20” x 35”). These are the two most common pillow sizes. Choose the pillow size you find most comfortable for you. Two king size pillows will fit perfectly across a super king size bed and an emperor bed.

Most pillows should be replaced every 1–2 years. Over time, your pillow will lose loft and support, accumulate body oils and dead skin and become less hygienic. Premium down and feather pillows may last longer with proper care. A pillow protector and regular washing every six months or so can extend your pillow's lifespan. See our Guide to washing your pillow.

Bed linen

The best bed linen material depends on the feel and look that you prefer. 100% cotton is the most popular bedding fabric choice due to its breathability, softness and durability. Egyptian cotton bedding is the premium cotton option, while linen bedding offers a relaxed look and feel, plus excellent temperature regulation, and Mulberry silk bedding provides indulgent comfort with anti-bacterial properties.

You should always match your bed linen size to your mattress size. UK bedding sizes are Single, Double, King, Super King and Emperor. You should also check the care labelling or measure your mattress depth to ensure that you get the right fitted sheet depth - either standard fit up to 30cm or deep fit up to 40cm depth.

We recommend washing your bed linen, cotton, linen or silk bedding, once a week to remove sweat, oils and allergens. In warmer months or if you sweat a lot, wash your bed linen more frequently, every 3–4 days or so. See our Egyptian cotton, Linen and Silk bed linen care and washing guides.

Towels

The best towels are made from 100% natural cotton, such as Egyptian cotton or Supima cotton, with a high GSM (grams per square metre). You will find these towels soft, absorbent, durable and ideal for everyday luxury. The Scooms towel range is certified 100% authentic Egyptian cotton for both the pile and ground and comes in an indulgent 720gsm thickness.

If you check the towel labelling, you will see GSM mentioned, which stands for grams per square metre and measures towel density.

  • 300–400 GSM: Lightweight and quick-drying towels.
  • 400–600 GSM: Medium weight towels for everyday use.
  • 600–900 GSM: Thick, luxury towels with high absorbency.

The Scooms towel range comes in a high 720gsm, resulting in plush, thick and cosy towels.

Towels should typically be replaced every 2–3 years, depending on use and care. The signs that it’s time to replace your towels include reduced absorbency, rougher texture, loss of fluffiness or fraying edges. See our towel care guides for top tips on how to care for your towels.

Still As Good As They Were

I bought these bath sheets about 3 years ago and the original ones are still great. I recently purchased them again to replace another brand I owned which had become worn. These towels are the best for quality, fluffiness and durability.

Pink Linen Duvet Cover is Beautiful

After much searching I finally came across this cover. The order was delivered very quickly and beautifully presented in its own linen bag. The cover is amazing to sleep under as it’s cool and soft, I have definitely slept much better since using it. Washes nicely and as I like the slightly crumpled linen look I don’t need to iron..
